Media Institutions for Distribution

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product?

My magazine is a school magazine, so obviously a media institution that would distribute it would be a school, specifically Camden School for Girls. It will be distributed at the end of assembly on the first Monday of every month, it is completely free. Budget wise, i did not have to worry, because the media department paid for everything. I used the media departments camera's for pictures and nothing was too much hassle to do.

Representing Social Groups

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

My front cover represents Cmaden students, however it does so unsuccessfully, it shows students together clearly having fun, but I'm not sure at first glance that someone would realise it was a school magazine. The black on the front cover is dull, but it fades in nicely with the image.

Using, Developing and Challenging Forms and Coventions

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and coventions of real media products?

My product follows the same guidelines as any other magazine. One big image on the front, sell lines, title and some colour so it's not too boring. My contents page is detailed, with some images of the paly Oklahoma, I have also written an Editor's note, so the audience knows whats inside and what type of person I am.

So far in media studies I have designed and created the front cover and contents page for a school magazine. At the moment I am learning about the film industry, specifically production and distribution.

In January I will start designing a music magazine, where I will create a front cover, contents page and feature.
